Why Choose Us?
Safety
Safety is our top priority. Though we have very competitive rates, we will probably never be the cheapest...BUT...we will be the safest.
Safety Takes Time.
This is a competitive industry where one of the few ways to increase profit margins is to increase productivity - in other words, do things faster. Unfortunately, increased speed and effective safety are conflicting interests. We are committed to taking the time to do things safely and effectively.
Safety Takes Planning
Have you ever tried to carry something heavy with someone without either of you knowing precisely where you were going? Not knowing what steps to take to complete a job will create an environment where people will work against each other unintentionally. We create a comprehensive plan at the start of each job so that each person knows what is happening and why, and what their roles and responsibilities in ensuring the safe execution of the plan.
Safety Takes Communication
Sometimes the plans change because of new information, sometimes because of the unexpected; but they nearly always change. Yelling over distance and/or the high noise level of chainsaws and other equipment is a very ineffective way to communicate even simple ideas. Sometimes we find the need to communicate complex ideas quickly in dynamic and dangerous situations at distance and over high noise levels. We use intercom systems that are installed into our helmets and hearing protection that allow us to speak to each other at distance and over high noise levels at conversational tones without strain. Because of this we are able to safely coordinate our activities at all times.
Safety Takes Skill
Anyone can buy a cheap chainsaw and start cutting trees. To deal with hazardous trees in complex situations requires education and experience. We are committed to researching, learning and implementing best industry practices. The techniques we use are state-of-the-art and we strive to improve upon them daily.
Safety Takes The Proper Equipment
Trees can become very large and heavy, and the forces that can be generated by removing sections of them can create deadly and catastrophic situations if they are not properly controlled. The rope on offer at the local hardware store is not up to this task. The equipment we use has been developed specifically for this industry and undergoes strict testing and certification. We do daily and pre-use inspections on everything we use. We have a replacement schedule on all of our equipment and retire anything that does not pass inspection immediately.
Safety Takes Commitment
Safety glasses do no one any good if they are anywhere other than properly on a face. We are committed to practicing safety as we do our jobs. That is why we wear personal protective equipment (PPE) while we perform our duties. It is up to each individual to wear their helmet, safety glasses, gloves, chainsaw protective pants or chaps, hearing protection, etc. These items are our last line of defense to help protect us should the unexpected occur.
